Help

Download the image of your choosing.

You will recognize it by the name ‘Petmourningcard_number’.

Write the announcement in a desired font, colour, etc.

As it concerns a .docx file, you can adjust text and picture as you’re used to doing in MS Word. Left-click on the text sample in order for it to appear in a frame or Right-click on the photograph after which a menu will open. You will then be able to change the text or search for the desired picture stored on your computer.

Save the file, it can then be sent or printed out at anytime.

When printing out, make sure that in the settings of your printer and in MS Word the ‘print background and images’ box is ticked. For example in MS Office 2013: File > Options > View: printing options, 2nd box.

Transcript tutorial:

1. Open your adjusted PetMourningCard.docx and make sure the card fits fully into your screen. The scale on the bottom right will usually show somewhere around ~70%.

2. Now click the ‘Print Screen’ button on your keyboard.

3. Open up any graphics painting program. In this tutorial we used MS Paint, because it’s
included in all versions of Microsoft Windows. If you can’t find it straightaway, type in ‘Paint’ into the search box.

4. Press ‘Ctrl+V’ or ‘Paste’ and the screen image you saved will re-appear.

5. Drag your card to the upper left corner and move the scrollbar on the very right all the way down.

6. Then click in the white space that appears under your pasted screen image and you’ll see a tiny square appear at the bottom edge of the page, just above the scrollbar.

7. Drag -by holding onto that tiny square- the horizontal line to right there where you want to crop your card and let go.

8. Move the bottom scrollbar to the very right and you’ll spot another tiny square half way up the vertical line at the edge of your screen. Now drag this line to where you want to crop your card and let go.

9. Go to ‘File’ in the top menubar and select ‘save as’. For ‘High Quality’ save your file as type: PNG.

10. First choose the location where you’d like to store your image before naming and saving it. In this tutorial we chose ‘desktop’.

11. Close your painting program and check whether you’re happy with the result. If you used MS Paint your file will automatically open in “Windows Photo Viewer”.
